Continuous Support

How will this help us ?

One of the most difficult parts of running a setting is getting support when you most need it. Knowing someone is on the other end of the phone and can talk things through to offer support is invaluable. This may be late at night when you are thinking through your day or on a weekend as you prepare for the week ahead. I am always there for a chat or a text message.

What should I expect to see as an impact?

Many settings want to develop their teaching and learning and therefore the quality of their education. Having a clear curriculum designed for the children currently in your care is the key to this. I will ensure that you and your staff have this clear curriculum intent that follows children’s interests and preferred ways of learning.

A better understanding of the purpose and impact of play. Staff will have the confidence in their interactions with children by understanding how children learn and how to engage them in activities. However, unlike attending a training course, this coaching will be done in the setting, with the children, in real situations, so all coaching is meaningful to the staff and has an instant positive impact on the children.

Enhanced development and making the most of your outdoor provision. A greater understanding of the importance of risky play for children and ensuring this is risk assessed and supervised effectively – extra support can be arranged if you wish to set up a forest school or creative outdoor learning curriculum.

I ensure that any paperwork you have is meaningful and purposeful for staff. I will support staff with ‘in the moment’ planning and observations to enable them to make the most of every opportunity with the children. I explain the processes as I do them and guarantee that your continuous provisions, activities and observations with be more focussed. This will be beneficial to both the staff member and the child, meaning it will have so much more impact as a result. Staff will feel empowered to learn and be the best they can be, so children will be able to know and learn more.

Children will be challenged as staff are focussed on what they need to teach them. Children with any gaps in learning will be identified and acted on together, giving support to the key worker and SENDCo (although I prefer the term inclusion co-ordinator.)

This is all included as part of my standard offer.
